Wonton Mee ist ein malaysischer Klassiker mit elastischen Eiernudeln, belegt mit saftigem Char Siu (BBQ-Schweinefleisch), zarten Wontons mit pikanter Schweinefleischfüllung und einem Schuss Sojasauce. Knackiges Grün sorgt für frischen Biss und das Ganze wird mit einer Prise gehackter Frühlingszwiebeln abgerundet. Also habe ich es für Onkel Roger gemacht.

Wonton mee is a Malaysian classic with springy egg noodles topped with juicy char siu (BBQ pork), tender wontons stuffed with a savoury pork filling, and a drizzle of rich soy sauce. Crisp greens add a fresh crunch, and everything is finished off with a sprinkle of chopped scallions. So I made it for Uncle Roger.
Ingredients
- 1/2 bunch choy sum
- 2 spring onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp MSG (optional)
- 2 bunches egg noodles
- char siu pork (optional)
- sambal, to serve
Directions
Place a large pot of water on to boil.
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauces, garlic, sugar, sesame oil, pepper, and MSG.
- Place the noodles into the boiling water and cook for 2 minutes. Remove and place into the sauce mixture.
- Once the noodles are out of the water, add the choy sum to the boiling water and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Mix the noodles well in the sauce, then serve with the choy sum, char siu pork, and sambal. Enjoy!
